Al Lockwood's Story!

Outhouse Radio is the creation of 30-year broadcasting vet Al Lockwood. Al began his career at 18 working for Mix 94.1/ WFTN in Franklin, NH. In 1990, Al & his family relocated to PA where he continued working in radio for Sunny 106.5/ WCED in DuBois, taking on several jobs, including morning show host, production assistant, chief operator and more. After more than 12 years with Sunny, Al moved on to work with Renda Radio in Punxsutawney, PA as Program Director, which was short-lived as a change in his wife's employment took them to Michigan. In 2020 after becoming disabled due to several spine surgeries, Al and his wife, Barb decided to start the Outhouse as a way for Al to keep himself from depression and keep his love of broadcasting alive.

How did we get the name "The Outhouse", well, Al's parents used to own a camp in Vermont with a couple outhouses, one of which was falling apart and leaning very badly. One day his Uncle decided to go in and it collapsed making everyone laugh, so to be different, the Outhouse

was born!
